## General Information

**Competition Levels**

Anyone who has taken one or more of the following courses are encouraged to attend!

- Algebra I
- Geometry
- Algebra II
- Precalculus
- Calculus

- Mu: Calculus AB & BC
- Alpha: Algebra II and Precalculus
- Theta: Algebra I and Geometry

**The Three Rounds**

**Individual**

**Tests**

- 1 hour for 30 multiple choice questions, based on the content the student signed up for
- Participants do not need to use all of the time; they may turn in the test as soon as they are satisfied with their answers
- Time may be used as a tie breaker in the case that multiple students have the same score

**Ciphering- Speed Round**

- Fast paced round: students are expected to answer a question within two minutes
- Questions are answered one at a time and graded on the spot
- This round is a total of 12 questions
- If the question is finished in under 1 minute, 4 points will be awarded
- If the question is finished in between 1 minute and 2 minutes, 2 points will be awarded

**Countdown Round**

- The top 16 competitors from each round will be able to participate
- Students will compete face to face in this round. A problem will be shown on a projector, and the contestants will race to finish the problem (with pencil and paper)
- 45 seconds are given to answer each questions; the first person to buzz in his/her answer will receive a point unless answered incorrectly
- There will be 3 rounds for each math level
